A Petition on Inviting Chief of Baku Central Police Department and State Public Prosecutor to Court on Haji Mammadov Case as Witnesses - Not Allowed

A petition on inviting Maharam Aliyev, Chief of the Baku Central Police Department and Zakir Garalov, Public Prosecutor of Azerbaijan to the court of the criminal case of Haji Mamadov and 25 members of his gang, was put forward by the lawyer Adil Ismayilov. It did not pass today, on November 29.

The legal proceedings on the criminal case of the former Senior Officer of the Central Criminal Investigation Department of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and 25 members of his gang is held in the Azerbaijan Court for Serious Crimes presided by judge Ali Seyfaliyev, Trend reports.

Adil Ismayilov is defending the rights of accused Zakir Nasirov, former Chief of the Central Criminal Investigation Department of the Azerbaijan Interior. In his petition, the lawyer said that due to some episodes in the court, Mr. Aliyev and Z. Garalov should give evidence in the court as witnesses. After the meeting, the court partially allowed the petition of Mr. Ismayilov. According to the decision made by Mr. Seyfaliyev, there is no need in inviting Mr. Aliyev and Mr. Garayev to the court at the current stage of the legal proceedings. However, the petition might be reviewed later.
