Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr Z. Safarov / The national women volleyball team of Ukraine confirmed its intention to participate in the international tournament in the memory of Heydar Aliyev in Baku to begin on 21 August.
Zohrab Gazalbayli, the Press-Secretary of the National Federation, reported that the contest will also be attended by Turkish and Bulgarian teams. The teams from Slovakia and Spain refused to participate due to qualification matches of the European Grand Prix. "We expect teams from Greece, France, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Romania to be in attendance as well," Gazalbayli stated.
Participation in the event will be an important stage for the national team in preparation of the European Championship to be held in Belgium in September.
