Maharramli noted that the cost of the license is AZN 11,000 for all Azerbaijani TV Channels. The regional channels do not differ from the country-wide channels in this connection.
"The cost of licenses for regional and country-wide channels should differ. A request for 4 or 5-fold decrease in the cost of the license for regional TV channels was submitted to the government. The government has replied that the proposal will be taken into consideration while considering the public budget this year," Maharramli said.
The Lankaran TV and Aygun TV will be issued a license once the cost has been defined.
"We do not wish for TV channels with reduced material and technology to pay as much as AZN 11,000. The cost of a new license will be confirmed in the forthcoming months," chairman added.
