Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / On 24 May the Court received a lawsuit regarding a complaint regarding the sentence made on the former Health Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Insanov. According to the information provided by the Appeal Court of Azerbaijan, the judge who will take on the case has not been confirmed as yet.
Arrested in October 2005 for attempting a coup d'etat, Ali Insanov was found guilty with regards to crimes linked with corruption and he was sentenced to 11-year's imprisonment and confiscation of his property. Currently Hasanov is detained in Bayl Investigation Isolator No. 1 of the Penal Service of Azerbaijan.
Due to his health problems, Hasanov requested that he be sent to the treatment institution of the Penal Service. The medical examination confirmed the existence of a back hernia of Hasanov.
