Azerbaijani Health Minister: Gabala Radar Station Does not Negatively Affect Human Health

Ilhamgizi / Azerbaijani radar station operating in the Gabala region does not have a negative affect on human health, Azerbaijani Health Minister, the chairman of the State Commission on Estimation of Effect of Gabala Radar Station upon Environment, Ogtay Shiraliyev, stated on the 18th of June at a press conference in Baku.
The minister noted that the necessary examinations were carried out in this connection. If the radar station had a negative effect towards human health, it would have already been portrayed within the last fifteen years, Shiraliyev said.
In 2002, Gabala Radar Station was leased to Russia for ten years. During the meeting of the G-8 summit held in Germany, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, proposed to the US President to jointly exploit the radar station.
