Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Javadova / The trial of an Azerbaijani soldier came to an end at the Azerbaijan Military Court on Serious Crimes on 29 June. The soldier, Eldaniz Nuriyev born in 1976, who was on military service at Fizuli region military unit of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment.
Nuriyev, left the military unit on 31 December, 2006 and voluntary passed the Armenian border. He was returned guilty if conveying secret information to the enemy.
Earlier Nuriyev was charged for desertion and was pardoned by the decision of Azerbaijani President.
