Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / According to information provided by the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis (CEA) will take place on 6 July in the German city of Mainz.
The meeting will focus on documents adopted at the 2nd Congress of the CEA and the Action Program for 2007- 2009. In addition, the meeting will cover issues arising from the strategy of joint activities of Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas.
An exchange of views will be held on issues regarding establishment of Azerbaijani diasporas in European countries, development of relations with Azerbaijan, as well as protection of rights and freedom of Azerbaijanis residing abroad. Ways will be highlighted on their integration into the social and political life in foreign countries. The meeting will also cover measures regarding promoting the cultural heritage of Azeri people.
The meeting will also be attended by the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov.
