Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan will consider the issue of a license to broadcast BBC radio of Great Britain in Azerbaijani for a term of one year on 20 July.
The Council will issue a license to continue the broadcasting of BBC radio in 2008. The US 'Freedom' and 'Voice of America' have already received their licenses. Due to the lack of applicants, the Council will make a decision to extend the term of the tender for 'Lankaran TV'. 'Janub TV' was the only candidate to participate in the tender and the results have therefore been canceled.
In compliance with the Azerbaijani State bill, there must be at least three participants in the tender
