Trend I.Alizade / On 1 August Vugar Khasiyev, the lawyer of Mushvig Huseynov, an employee from the Bizim Yol newspaper, met with the journalist in the Bayl detention isolation cell No 1. Khasayev said that the journalist suffers from serious health problems. According to him, an X-ray examination of the journalist has not yet been made.
The lawyer said that he has become familiarized with the results of the evidence gathering regarding the accusation put forward by investigators.
An employee of Bizim Yol newspaper, Mushvig Huseynov, was arrested by the police force on 24 July. The Prosecutor-General's Office states that Huseynov was detained for accepting a bribe from an official in the amount of $3,500. A criminal case was filed against Huseynov in compliance with Article 311.1 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. An investigation is underway at the Corruption Enforcement Department at the Republican Prosecutor's Office.
