Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / Elmira Suleymanova, the Ombudswoman, appealed to the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Jakob Kellenberger, regarding the release of the Azerbaijanis captured by the Armenian Armed Forces.
The appeal comes as a result of Suleymanova's research in response to information about Samir Mammadov, the Azerbaijani soldier captured by Armenians, which was published by the Armenian press.
Suleymanova set up ties with state bodies and family of the Azerbaijani soldier and received important documents. The Ombudswoman noted in her appeal that the false information distributed by the Armenian press has a negative effect on the psychology of the family of the Azerbaijani soldier.
Suleymanova asked the ICRC's President to render his assistance to release the Azerbaijani soldier and two citizens, Ashraf Jafarov and Anar Aliyev, also captured by the Armenian Armed Forces.
