Over 60 Cultural Employees Discharged in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan / Тrend corr E. Mammadov / Between January and August, sixty-one cultural employees were discharged in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), it was reported at the meeting held at the NAR Culture & Tourism Ministry.

The NAR Culture & Tourism Minister, Sarvan Ibrahimov, noted that 702 club employees and 451 library employees in NAR have secondary educations or experience in their profession. According to the Minister, twenty-one clubs and fifteen libraries were shut down, and as a result, twenty librarians and forty-one clubs employees were discharged.

Moreover, eighteen people with higher education and eleven with vocational education were provided with employment.

The area of NAR is 5,500km2, which constitutes 6.4% of Azerbaijan's territory. Nakhchivan consists of Babek, Sharur, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, Julfa, and Kangarli regions. Nakhchivan city is the capital of Nakhchivan AR with a population of 380,200.
