Some 9,378 real estate facilities were sold to foreigners in Turkey in the first quarter of 2016, which is 9.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2015, said the report of Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first quarter of 2015, some 10,353 real estate facilities were sold to foreigners in Turkey, according to the TUIK.
In particular, citizens of Azerbaijan purchased 336 real estate facilities in Turkey in 2016.
The report notes that in June 2016 alone, some 1,543 real estate facilities were sold to foreigners in Turkey, which is 31.6 percent less compared to June 2015.
In June 2016, Iraqi citizens purchased 214 real estate facilities in Turkey, according to the TUIK.
Russian citizens occupy the second place in terms of transactions in the Turkish real estate market: in June 2016, Russian citizens purchased 114 real estate facilities.
