Number of Russian tourists decreases in Turkey

The number of Russian tourists who visited Turkey declined by 93 percent in July 2016 compared to July 2015, a message posted on the website of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism said Aug. 31.
According to the message, in total, the number of tourists decreased by 36.7 percent and amounted to 3.4 million people in Turkey in July 2016 compared to July 2015.
In total, 14.2 million of foreign tourists visited Turkey in January-July 2016, which is 30.3 percent less than in the same period of 2015, the message said.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, 29.6 million tourists visited Turkey in 2015, while 12.4 million of them visited Istanbul.
Turkey's tourism revenues amounted to $31.5 billion in 2015, which is 8.3 percent less than in 2014.
