Turkey to simplify taxes for exemplary taxpayers

A tax payment procedure will be simplified for exemplary taxpayers in Turkey, Naci Agbal, Turkish finance minister said, Sabah newspaper reported.

The minister stressed that an administrative mechanism and a bill are being worked out to simplify the tax payment procedure for exemplary taxpayers.

He added that the specialists of the ministry will review the tax payment schedule for the last three years for revealing exemplary taxpayers.

Agbal also said that the ministry is considering a possibility of reducing the number of taxes for some taxpayers.

He added that after a tax payment mechanism is worked out, the bill will be submitted to the country’s parliament for ratification.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, tax charges amounted to 389 billion Turkish lira (official exchange rate for Sept. 21 is 2.9794 TL/USD) in 2015.
