A set of measures has been adopted in Uzbekistan to effectively organize the planting and processing of licorice and other medicinal plants, Trend reports via the Uzbek media.

Last year, the Uzbek government provided benefits to organizations planting and processing licorice and other medicinal plants.

Now, these benefits will apply only to members of the association of organizations planting and processing licorice and other medicinal plants.

Duration of the benefits has not changed – until January 1, 2024. However, from May 1 of this year, the members of the association who produce licorice extract are required to create licorice plantations of at least 100 hectares annually until January 1, 2024.

The association members also got additional preferences until January 1, 2024, such as the permission to import UAVs to effectively manage the growing of licorice and other medicinal plants and monitor plantations.
