New hatcheries have been commissioned in the village of Khoylu of Azerbaijan’s Goranboy District and the village of Garaaghaji of Tartar District, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan's Small and Medium Business Development Agency.

The hatcheries, commissioned as part of the joint project of the Azerbaijani government and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) titled "Social and Economic Development Activities" (SEDA), contribute to the development of small business in Tartar and Goranboy districts, and will also support more than 11,000 residents in 10 surrounding villages.

In this regard, events were held in the villages of Khoylu and Garaaghaji with the support of the agency, USAID, district executive authorities and villagers.

The commissioning of the hatcheries will help expand the opportunities for poultry farms of rural residents. The hatcheries will also contribute to the development of micro-entrepreneurship and to the growth of employment of rural residents.

A similar hatchery was opened in the village of Dallar Jayir of Shamkir District on September 17.
