Azerbaijan’s Chamber of Accounts has restored over 130 million manat ($76.4 million) in the state budget, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Vusal Gulmammadov said, Trend reports.
Gulmammadov said that measures to restore excessive costs continue.
As a result of control measures carried out in recent years, the Chamber of Accounts restored over 130 million manat of funds in the budget by financial and other means, he noted.
The chairman added that 35 materials were sent to law enforcement agencies during these years, and the agencies gave them a legal assessment and took appropriate measures.
“The functions of the Chamber of Accounts are related to the control over the use of public funds, and we act within the powers of national legislation in this area,” stressed Gulmammadov.
“We build control work on the basis of a methodology that meets the international standards, and carry out control according to documents drawn up on the basis of the requirements of existing legislation on the use of public funds,” he emphasized.
