Azerbaijani microentrepreneurs to receive lump sum payment

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 5

Individual (micro) entrepreneurs in need of financial support who earlier received a lump sum payment of 250 manat ($147) in Azerbaijan, will be re-provided with financial support in the same amount, Trend reports.

The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decree to provide the financial support to business entities.

Quarantine measures are being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the country, and the next phase of financial support programs for microentrepreneurs has been launched, said the document.

According to the decree, the taxpayers working in coronavirus-affected areas, who received financial support and did not carry out serious job cuts in response to the appeal of the head of state to date, will receive financial support in the amount of a monthly wage fund in relation to the number of employees as of July 1, 2020.

Financial support will be paid on equal parts in two stages in August and September.

At the same time, individual (micro) entrepreneurs in need of financial support who received a lump sum payment of 250 manat at the first stage will again receive financial support in the same amount.

Taxpayers who received financial support in the first stage do not need to reapply. Taxpayers who have not yet received financial support can also ask for help. New applications are accepted until August 10.

As reported, on August 7, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov will hold an online meeting with entrepreneurs to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business. Business activities in the new environment, ways to eliminate the negative impact of the pandemic on entrepreneurship will be considered at the meeting, proposals from the private sector will be heard and questions will be answered.

Entrepreneurs can send their proposals on these issues to [email protected] until 18:00 on August 6.
