ADY Container LLC, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, jointly with its partners from Turkey and Georgia has developed a new logistics route, Balakhan Nazarov, Spokesman for ADY Container, told Trend.
According to Nazarov, within the TURKUAZ project, express container transportation will be carried out.
"We are talking about the transportation of goods in the directions Istanbul-Baku, Mersin-Baku and vice versa," he said.
According to the company representative, this project will contribute to the growth of cargo transportation on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway.
"To attract additional cargo and to boost trade turnover through the BTK transport corridor, we organize regular bilateral and multilateral meetings. On March 16, during the videoconference, representatives of the railways of Azerbaijan and Russia discussed the issues of increasing import, export and transit cargo transportation, as well as more favorable conditions and tariffs for cargo transportation," the spokesman said.
