A new hazelnut processing plant will start to operate in Azerbaijan’s Khachmaz district, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy told Trend on April 5.
“Some 30 new jobs will be created at the plant,” the ministry said. “The plant will process 1,500 tons of hazelnuts annually.”
"One of the agricultural aspects of Azerbaijan with a big export potential is the cultivation of hazelnuts,” the ministry said. “The country is taking measures to increase the production volume of this product by modern methods and bring it to new markets. As part of this work, new enterprises for processing hazelnuts, operating on the basis of new technologies, are created.”
“One of such enterprises is AZNUTS LLC - the hazelnut processing plant in Khudat town of Khachmaz district,” the ministry said.
“The Ministry of Economy issued a document on investment promotion for the project worth 2.7 million manat ($1.6 million) while the Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the ministry issued a loan worth 2 million manat ($1.2 million) on concessional terms,” the ministry said. “The plant will start to work soon."
