The reconstruction of motor roads was completed in Azerbaijani Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s Sharur and Ordubad districts in the first quarter of 2021, Trend reports referring to the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, the reconstruction of two motor roads on the Julfa-Ordubad highway continues.
"The reconstruction work on the Khanlyglar-Sharur-Yengija-Shahriyar-Kurchulu-Karimbayli- Damirchi, Khanlyglar - Yukhary and Ashaghy Dasharkh roads in the Sharur district were completed, while reconstruction of entrance and internal highways, as well as an underground pedestrian crossing in the city of Sharur, continues,” the report said.
Besides, the reconstruction of roads in Charchiboghan village of Sharur district, Vanand-Pazmari and Ashaghy Andamik villages of Ordubad district was started, and, construction of one and repair of another bridge in the village of Nusnus was completed.
The report noted that the construction of a parking lot for 400 cars in the city of Nakhchivan continues and the construction of a new bus station building in the city of Sharur has begun.
"At the Nakhchivan station, the construction of an administrative building for the police station continues. In Sharur district, an overhaul of communication centers, reconstruction of the building of the electrical network, the administrative building of the depot and the repair shop are underway," added the report.
From January through March 2021, over 3.4 million tons of cargo and 22.27 million passengers have been transported in Azerbaijan.
