VTB Bank Azerbaijan digitalizing services increases number of online requests, payments

Digitalization of services of VTB Bank (Azerbaijan) increased the number of users of digital banking services, requests and appeals, online payments, and corporate clients, the bank told Trend on Aug. 23

According to the bank, the COVID-19 pandemic also impacted the banking sector, and the self-distancing regime accelerated the transition of customers to the digital space.

"In the first half of 2021, the number of users of our digital banking rose by 55.3 percent compared to the beginning of the year, and the share of loan applications issued remotely amounted to 82 percent of the total number of applications for cash loans and credit cards, while the share of online payments by legal entities increased to 90 percent,” the bank said. “As for the number of corporate clients connected to digital channels of VTB Bank (Azerbaijan), their increment since the beginning of 2020 amounted to 66 percent.”

Besides, at the end of last year, the DIRECT digital chat bank was launched.

"With the help of this service, most banking operations can now be performed without visiting a bank branch. The service is convenient for individual entrepreneurs. It allows quickly conduct transactions on accounts, order a business card, and obtain information on the accounts, and in the future, it’s planned to add the function of applying for a loan to the chat-bank,” concluded the bank.
