A plant is planned to be launched in Azerbaijan for the production of medicines with a capacity of up to 250 million packages per year by the end of 2021, Ruslan Mirsayapov, the trade representative of Russia in Azerbaijan, told Trend on Aug. 30.
"The design capacity of the Azerbaijani-Russian ‘2R-Pharm LLC’ enterprise will make up nearly 250 million packages per year. The production will allow the release of drugs at five independent sites and conduct the entire range of laboratory tests," Mirsayapov said.
According to him, at the initial stage, 89 types of drugs will be produced at the plant.
"The plant will produce about one million packages of drugs for the treatment of socially significant diseases. The LLC is supposed to localize the secondary packaging of the Diabeton drug for the prevention of complications of diabetes mellitus, as well as commercialize this drug in the country. Besides, it will produce modern, highly effective drugs for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune, hematological, and endocrine diseases," he noted.
Mirsayapov added that in the future it’s planned to export these drugs to Georgia, Iran, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the countries of Central Asia.
