By Khagan Isayev - Trend:
Azerbaijan's transport sector growth rate is forecasted to reach 4.5 percent in 2022, Trend reports citing the bill of the budget.
According to the bill, measures aimed at realizing the country's transit and logistics potential, including acceleration of the development of transit hubs in air and land transport, and launching of the Zangazur corridor [to connect Azerbaijan’s west districts with its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic] will contribute to the dynamic development of the transport sector.
Launching of the Alat free economic zone (FEZ), construction of new airports in the territories liberated from Armenian occupation (in the 2020 second Karabakh war) and increase of the cargo traffic will also positively impact the sector’s development.
Given the above, from 2022 through 2025, the average annual growth rate is projected at the level of 5.2 percent.
