Russia’s Astrakhan Business Center in Azerbaijan’s Baku city is a new facility in the country, which will attract businessmen and representatives in the humanitarian field, Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin told reporters in Baku on Dec. 8, Trend reports.

Babushkin added that the Astrakhan business center was prepared for opening a year ago, but, unfortunately, the opening ceremony had to be postponed due to the restrictions introduced amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"When some restrictions were removed, we used the opportunity and a big delegation of the Astrakhan region arrived in Baku to fulfill the honorable mission to open the Astrakhan business center," Babushkin said.

The governor regards the level of cooperation between the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan as high.

"The ties between Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan region continue to develop," the governor said. "I think that the mutual export and import operations are observed at a high level."
