Azerbaijani imports of plastic and plastic products in 10M2021 exceeded 146,720 tons, which is 21,470 tons less than the same period last year, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee's report.
According to the Committee, the share of plastic and plastic products in the total imports of Azerbaijan in the specified period amounted to 3.3 percent.
At the same time, the cost of imports of plastics and plastic products increased by $20.27 million, or 7.05 percent, and exceeded $307.6 million.
It is reported that Azerbaijan during the reporting period increased the export of plastics and plastic products by 49.54 percent, or 166,790 tons compared to the same period last year - up to more than 336,620 tons.
It is noted that, in general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in 10M2021 exceeded $26.1 billion. Of this, exports accounted for about $16.849 billion (64.56 percent), imports - more than $9.333 billion (35.44 percent).
The balance of foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan, while remaining positive, increased 2.2 times on an annualized basis - up to 7.515 billion manats ($4.4 billion). The foreign trade surplus in the same period in 2020 amounted to almost $3.467 billion.
