Investments in Azerbaijan's fixed capital down in 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 17

Investments in fixed capital in Azerbaijan in 2021 lowered, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to slightly over 16.1 billion manat ($9.4 billion), down by 8.2 percent on annual basis.

Investments in the oil and gas and non-oil sectors last year decreased by 5.6 and 9.6 percent, respectively, compared to 2020.

Meanwhile, over 10.5 billion manat ($6.1 billion), or 65.3 percent, of the investments in fixed capital fell on the production sector, 4.56 billion manat ($2.68 billion), or 28.3 percent - the service sector, nearly 1.03 million manat ($610,000), or 6.4 percent - the construction of residential buildings.

Besides, in 2021 over 11.7 billion manat ($6.8 billion), or 73.1 percent of funds, which were allocated to fixed capital, accounted for domestic funds.

At the same time, slightly over 11 billion manat ($6.4 billion), or 68.3 percent of the funds, was spent on construction and installation work.

In the total amount of funds allocated to fixed capital, funds of enterprises and organizations amounted to 54.7 percent, budget funds - 25.7 percent, other funds – 7.5 percent, personal funds of the population – 6.1 percent, and bank loans - six percent.
