Azerbaijan sees increase in number of POS-terminals in Nakhchivan for 2021

The number of POS-terminals in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic increased by 7.2 percent or 101 in 2021 compared to 2020 up to 1,511, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistics Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the total volume of payments through these terminals reached about 119.5 million manat ($70.3 million) in 2021, which is 33.2 percent more than in 2020.

Some 186,622 accounts were opened in the banks of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as of 2021, which is by more than twice or by 94,284 more than in 2020 (92,338 accounts).

GDP of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic increased by 2.4 percent as of 2021 compared to 2020, exceeding 3.01 billion manat ($1.8 billion). GDP per capita in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic increased by 3.4 percent compared to 2020 up to 6,524 manat ($3,837).
