Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan increases lending to individuals, legal entities

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 24

Banks and credit organizations of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) increased the issuance of loans to legal entities and individuals in January 2022, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of the NAR.

According to the committee, this indicator exceeded 19.308 million manat ($11.3 million), up by 71.7 percent compared to the same month in 2021.

Some 1.722 million manat ($1.01 million), or 8.9 percent of the above sum accounted for short-term loans, and nearly 17.586 million manat, ($10.3 million) or 91.1 percent for long-term loans.

Meanwhile, the GDP of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) increased by 1.1 percent in January 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. The GDP per capita in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic reached 389.4 manat ($229.1), up by 2.2 percent compared to January 2021.
