The nominal wages (monthly average) of employees in Azerbaijan increased by 10.9 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 765.9 manat ($450.5) in January 2022, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
The growth of the monthly average nominal wages was recorded in the mining industry, the financial and insurance sectors, in the sphere of information and communications, construction, also in the transport and warehousing sectors during this period, agency said.
The number of employees in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.6 million people, of which 901,000 were in the public sector and 778,100 were in the private sector, in February 1, 2022.
