BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Azerbaijan is a major supplier of oil and gas to Germany, Executive Director of German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce Tobias Baumann told Trend.
He noted that German companies play an important role in Azerbaijan’s economy.
"Our companies are actively involved in Southern Gas Corridor. Now we have quite serious problems with our Russian gas partners. We are looking for alternative ways to diversify gas supplies," Baumann said.
"We supply drilling equipment to Azerbaijan for exploration, implement environmental protection projects, and also help the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) manage hazardous waste," Baumann said.
Baumann also added that German companies supply Azerbaijani partners with equipment for various industries - textile, cattle-breeding, food production.
“In addition, we designed the roof for Crystal Palace building in Baku together with Swiss partners. German companies still play an important role in Azerbaijan," Baumann said.
