BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, from January through April 2022, amounted to $2.11 million, or 0.12 percent of the total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover with the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Trend reports with reference to of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan decreased by 50.8 percent from January through April 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 ($4.24 million).

The share of Tajikistan in the total trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.02 percent from January through April 2022.

Tajik imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $2.09 million from January through April 2022, which is 50.2 percent less than in the same period in 2021 ($4.2 million).

Tajik exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $28,200 from January through April 2022, which is 36.6 percent less than the same period in 2021 ($44,600).

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in total increased by 60.35 percent (or $5.9 billion) from January through April 2022 compared to the same period last year - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.

A total volume of exports in foreign trade turnover accounted for $11.8 billion, which is $5.4 billion (85.7 percent) more than from January through April 2022.

The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.5 percent against 64.3 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports increased from $3.5 billion to $4.04 billion (by $511.6 million or 14.5 percent) in the reporting period.

The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.4 percent against 35.6 percent a year earlier.
