BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey amounted to $1.9 billion or 27.73 percent of the total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover from January through April 2022, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey increased by 22.6 percent from January through April 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 ($1.5 billion).

Turkish imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $1.2 billion from January through April 2022, which is 19.9 percent more than in the same period in 2021 ($1.05 billion).

Turkish exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $687.4 million from January through April 2022, which is 27.8 percent more than in the same period in 2021 ($537.5 million).

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totally increased by 60.3 percent, or $5.9 billion from January through April 2022 compared to the same period last year - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.

The volume of exports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, accounted for $11.8 billion, which is $5.4 billion (85.7 percent) more than from January through April 2021. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.5 percent against 64.3 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports increased by $511.6 million or 14.5 percent (from $3.5 billion to $4.04 billion), in the reporting period.

The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.4 percent against 35.6 percent a year earlier.
