BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Cargo turnover of Turkish Antalya International Airport increased by 1.8 times in May 2022, compared to the same period last year and amounted to 81,716 tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
The airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights increased by 86 percent in May compared to the same period in 2021 and amounted to 21,408 tons, and on international flights, it increased 2.5 times and amounted to 60,308 tons.
Passenger traffic at the airport increased by 1.5 times in May this year compared to the same period in 2021 and amounted to 6.3 million people. Passenger traffic on domestic flights increased by 89 percent to 2.1 million people in May 2022, and on international flights, it increased 2.1 times to 4.1 million people.
According to the ministry, the number of flights operated from the airport increased by 1 percent in May 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 and amounted to 46,668.
At the same time, the number of flights on domestic flights increased by 33 percent to 17,298, and international flights increased by 1.9 times to 29,370.
Passenger traffic at all airports in Turkiye amounted to 56.9 million people in May 2022, and cargo turnover – was 1.3 million tons.
