BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 2.6 billion manat ($1.5 billion) from January through May 2022, which is 17.5 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports citing a report by Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to committee, area of spring crops decreased by 1.2 percent (to 382,600 hectares) from January through May 2022 percent compared to the same period last year.

The area under corn crops decreased by 6.4 percent in the reporting period compared to the same period last year, potatoes - by 2.3 percent, and the area under wheat increased by 127.9 percent.
Livestock production in Azerbaijan increased by 2.8 percent during this period compared to from January through May 2021, amounting to 2.02 billion manat ($1.18 billion), and in crop production - by 5.1 percent, up to 611.4 million manat ($359.6 million).
Azerbaijan produced 220,100 tons of meat, 890,900 tons of milk and 824.8 million chicken eggs from January through May 2022. The production of meat increased by three percent, milk - by 1.9 percent, chicken eggs - by three percent compared to first five months 2021.
