BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced products worth 49.3 billion manat ($29 billion) from January through July 2022, which is 1.5 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

From January through July 2022, production in the oil and gas sector remained at the same level, in the non-oil sector - increased by 10.7 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

At the same time, 75.6 percent of industrial output accounted for the mining sector, 20.5 percent - for the manufacturing sector, 3.3 percent - for the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.6 percent - for the water supply, waste treatment and recycling sector.

In addition, commercial oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 4.5 percent From January through July 2022, and commercial gas production increased by 15.3 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

The growth in the production of building materials in the processing industry for the year amounted to 24.9 percent, in the chemical industry - 18 percent, the metallurgical industry - 17.2 percent, cars, trailers and semi-trailers – 2.6 times, pharmaceuticals – twice, electrical equipment – 63.9 percent, furniture - 56.5 percent, clothing – 52 percent, machinery and spare parts - 39 percent, computer and optical products - 34.5 percent, finished metal products – 32.4 percent, leather and leather products - 26.5 percent, paper and cardboard - 16.7 percent, food - 11.5 percent, rubber and plastic products – 9.5 percent, lumber and products made from them - 0.8 percent.

According to the State Statistics Committee, from January through July 2022, production in the textile industry decreased by 24.6 percent, production of tobacco products – by 2.4 percent, beverages - by 6.9 percent, petroleum products - by 11.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

The volume of production in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 2.2 percent, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 4.8 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
