BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. A total of 832,000 foreigners and stateless persons from 171 countries visited Azerbaijan from January through July 2022, which is 2.3 times more than in the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, 26.4 percent of the total number of visitors came from Russia, 21 percent from Türkiye, 11.6 percent from Iran, 6.8 percent from Saudi Arabia, 4.8 percent from Georgia, 3 percent from Pakistan, 2.6 percent from India, 2.5 percent - from the UAE, 2 percent - Ukraine, 1.9 percent - Kazakhstan, 1.5 percent - from Kuwait, 1.4 percent from Israel and Oman, 1.2 percent from UK and Uzbekistan, 10.7 percent - from other countries.
Committee noted that 36.4 percent of foreigners and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan by rail and road, 62 percent by air, and 1.6 percent by seaway.
The number of visitors from Oman in Azerbaijan increased by 156.9 times over the year, Saudi Arabia - by 351.2 times, Kuwait - by 166.6 times, the UAE - by 7.3 times, Bahrain - by 8.6 times, Israel - by 7.1 times, Pakistan - by 31.9 times, India - 18.2 times, the USA - 4.4 times, France - 2.8 times, Kazakhstan - 5.8 times, Russia – 1.7 times, the UK - 2.1 times, Ukraine - 1.7 times, Iran - 1.8 times, Türkiye -1.9 times, Georgia - 22.5 percent.
