BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. The value of Azerbaijan’s confectionary import grew from January through July 2022, Trend reports via the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, this figure amounted to $81.3 million, up by $14.9 million (22.5 percent) on annual basis.
In the first seven months of this year, the value of confectionary exports by Azerbaijan grew by more than three times compared to the same period of 2021 – up to $4.4 million, and the share of these products in total Azerbaijani exports equaled 0.02 percent, the committee said.
Meanwhile, the country's foreign trade turnover in these products was $85.7 million, which is $18 million (26.73 percent) more than in 7M2021.
Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover increased by $12.36 billion (69.91 percent) from January through July 2022 compared to the same period last year, from $17.69 billion to $30.05 billion.
Exports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, accounted for $22.5 billion, which is $11.17 billion (98.05 percent) more than in the first seven months of 2021. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 75.07 percent against 64.4 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports increased by $1.19 billion (18.99 percent) in 7M2022, from $6.29 billion to $7.49 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 24.93 percent against 35.59 percent recorded in the same period of last year.
As a result, in the reporting period, the balance of foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, increased year-on-year by more than $9.9 billion (more than 2.95 times) to $15.07 billion against $5.09 billion in 7M2021.
