BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1. The grain stocks in Azerbaijan amounted to 690,429 tons at the beginning of 2022, which is 34.5 percent or 363,416 tons less than at the beginning of 2021, Trend reports via State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, 48,000 tons of grain accounted for the share of export.
"The volume of grain in Azerbaijan amounted to 1 million tons at the beginning of 2021. More than 3.2 million tons of grain was produced in domestic market and 1.2 million tons was imported," committee said.
More than two million tons of the total grain volume was allocated for the production of flour and flour products, 1,963 tons - for the production of animal feed, over 4,200 tons - for the production of alcohol.
In total, more than 5.5 million tons of grain was produced and used in Azerbaijan by the end of 2021.
