BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Fields of 380 hectares are sown with wheat and barley in ID - Agropark LLC located in the Saatli region of Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the Economic Zones Development Agency of Azerbaijan.
According to the agency, on the territory of the agricultural park with a total area of 7,000 hectares, an area of 1,600 hectares is planted.
"The harvesting of almonds and cotton has begun on the territory of the agricultural park. It's planned to harvest 30-35 quintals from each hectare of cotton fields, and more than seven tons from almond orchards. Pomegranate harvesting will begin in the near future. It's expected to harvest more than 2,500 tons (10 tons per hectare). At the same time, work is underway in an agricultural park to sow winter barley and wheat on an area of 600 hectares," the agency said.
Investments in the agricultural park are estimated at 21.7 million manat ($12.7). A total of 157 people work there constantly and more than 300 people on a seasonal basis.
Currently, 239,300 hectares of land in 32 districts of Azerbaijan created 51 agricultural parks with a total project value of 2.4 billion manat (1.4 billion). Of these, 34 specialize in crop production, 14 - in crop production and livestock, one - in livestock, and two - in sorting, processing, and logistics.
