BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. As many as 6.375 million passengers were carried by the Ankara Esenboga International Airport of Türkiye in September 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.
According to the ministry, this figure was 27 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
In the reporting month, the airport's domestic air passenger traffic equaled 4.9 million people (a growth of 20 percent), whereas international passenger traffic reached 1.4 million people (a growth of 61 times).
Meantime, Ankara's Esenboga International Airport handled 72,053 tons of cargo, which was 23 percent more than in September 2021.
During this period, the airport's domestic air cargo traffic amounted to 43,906 tons (a year-on-year increase of 13 percent), while international cargo traffic – was 27,147 tons (a rise of 45 percent).
Furthermore, 53,115 flights were implemented in September 2022, which was 11 percent more than in September 2021. Meanwhile, the number of domestic flights amounted to 39,924 (a growth of 5 percent), whereas international flights – 13,191 (a rise of 34 percent).
In September 2022, passenger traffic at all Turkish airports totaled 137.699 million people, whilst cargo turnover stood at 3.005 million tons.
At the end of 2021, passenger movement through all Turkish airports made up 128.387 million people, and cargo turnover – was 3.358 million tons.
