BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. According to the forecast of Gazprombank, Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will leave the discount rate unchanged, at the level of 7.75 percent following the upcoming meeting on October 28, Deputy Head of the Market Analysis Department of Russian Gazprombank Gulnara Khaidarshina told Trend.
According to her, the growth of deposits in the national currency and the steady decline in the level of dollarization, as well as the stable situation in the foreign exchange market serves as arguments in favor of such decision.
"At the same time,Gazprombank doesn't exclude the fact that at the upcoming meeting the interest corridor may be expanded again to maintain the attractiveness of deposits in manat [country's national currency] without raising the discount rate. Gazprombank also expects that the tone of the press release will remain neutral, and doesn't exclude that the CBA may publish an updated inflation forecast," Khaidarshina said.
