BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 4. Azerbaijan purchased 5.388 tons of lentils from abroad valued at $5.899 million from January through September 2022, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
This figure is 2.3 times more in terms of value and 69 percent in quantitative terms compared to the same period of 2021.
A total of 2,360 tons were bought from Kazakhstan (growth of 2.5 times year over year) for $2.816 million, from Russia – 1,670 tons (an increase of 2.7 times) for $1.449 million, from Kyrgyzstan – 1,040 tons (drop of 21 percent) for $1.244 million, from Canada – 296.5 tons (growth of 18 percent) for $371,790, and from Türkiye – 9 tons (a decrease by 81.4 percent) for $14,420.
Following a break in the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 3.75 tons of lentils worth $6,440. As many as 3.6 tons worth $6,170 were exported to Poland, while 0.15 tons worth $2.60 were delivered to Ukraine.
