Türkiye reveals freight traffic from Georgia via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Turkish ports handled 2.35 million tons of cargo from Georgia in January 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 984,964 tons of cargo from Georgia, while ships under the flags of other countries – 1.367 million tons.

During this period, 65,000 tons of cargo were transshipped by Georgia-flagged ships to Turkish ports. A total of 1.508 million tons of transit freight was transported from Georgia to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 31.99 million tons of freight in January 2023.

In the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transshipped 1.908 million tons, whereas ships under the flags of other countries equaled 30.08 million tons.

A total of 6.497 million tons of transit freight were transferred by Turkish ports in January 2023.
