BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. "Yuzhny" [Southern] Poultry Complex LLC in Russian Ingushetia will start export of turkey meat to Azerbaijan this summer, the LLC’s Director Adam Kostoev told reporters, Trend reports via Russian media.
According to Kostoyev, the company has already signed a contract with the Azerbaijani side.
"The first batch of products is expected to be sent to Azerbaijan in May-June," Kostoev said, quoted by the Russian media.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, from January through March 2023, the agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices equaled 1.34 billion manat ($790 million), which is 3.4 percent more than in 2022.
During this period, livestock production in value terms grew by 3.5 percent, up to 1.26 billion manat ($740 million), and crop production - by 1.3 percent, up to 76 million manat ($44.7 million).
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to $3.71 billion in 2022, increasing by 23 percent compared to 2021. The share of trade operations with Russia stood at 7.04 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan last year.
