Türkiye reveals volume of cargo traffic from Greece via its ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Turkish ports handled 3.7 tons million of cargo from Greece from January through March 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, vessels under the Turkish flag delivered 203,248 tons of cargo from Greece to domestic ports, while vessels under the flags of other countries - 3.4 million tons.

During this period, around 56,531 tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by ships under the Greek flag, while about 733,771 tons of transit cargo were transported from Greece to the ports in the accounting period.

Moreover, in the third month of 2023, the above ports handled 31.9 million tons of cargo.

During the specified period, the reception of cargo to domestic ports by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.3 million tons.

At the same time, cargo transportation to Turkish ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 29.6 million tons.

In addition, in March of the current year, the mentioned ports handled 6.1 million tons of transit cargo.

According to the ministry, the ports accepted 91.5 million tons of cargo in the first three months of the current year.

Cargo transshipment by ships under the Turkish flag the reporting period amounted to 6.4 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries - 85 million tons.

Furthermore, about 18.3 million tons of transit cargo were handled from the ports of Türkiye in the accounting period
