BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. Twenty five railway transport projects will be carried out in Türkiye in 2023, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
The ministry noted that the total cost of the above projects envisaged for implementation by the country is 60.1 billion liras ($3 billion).
Overall, 778 projects in the field of transport and information are expected to be implemented in the country by 2023. The total cost of the projects will amount to 121.7 billion liras ($6.2 billion).
"Part of the projects are planned to be carried out at the expense of external credit funds. The total amount of the external loan is 22.1 billion liras ($1.1 billion)," the statement says.
On top of that, a total of 2.1 trillion liras ($183.9 billion) were allocated for these projects in Türkiye last year, of which 502.5 billion liras ($25.8 billion) are foreign loans.
In mid-March 2023, President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkic states will play a strategic role in the development of regional transport and logistics chains.
