Turkish ports receive over 20M tons of petroleum products in 1Q2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Turkish ports received 21.2 million tons of petroleum products from January through March 2023, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

During this period, transshipment by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 1.49 million tons.

"The transportation of petroleum products by ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 20.15 million tons," the ministry said.

In addition, in the specified period, about 11.9 million tons of petroleum products were transported through the ports.

Meabwhile, the above ports received 31.9 million tons of cargo in March 2023.

During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag reached 2.3 million tons, while cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to the Turkish ports amounted to 29.6 million tons.

Furthermore, in the third month of the current year, around 6.15 million tons of transit cargo were transported.

According to the ministry, in the first quarter this year, the ports received 91.5 million tons of cargo.

In the accounting period, cargo acceptance on ships under the country's flag reached 6.4 million tons, while cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries totaled 85.8 million tons.

On top of that, from January through March 2023, approximately 18.3 million tons of transit cargo were transported.
