BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Azerbaijani company presents the New Holland T6.180 Methane tractor, which runs exclusively on natural gas (methane) at the Caspian Agro exhibition in Baku, Head of Marketing Department at Prior Leasing OJSC Laman Safarli told Trend.
"This is the world's first tractor running entirely on methane gas. Farmers can use agricultural waste to produce bio-methane fuel for this tractor. Thanks to economically and environmentally efficient bio-methane, farm owners will be able to prevent pollution of nature,” Safarli said.
“Farmers engaged in animal husbandry use organic fertilizers to prevent the release of carbon dioxide into the environment. As a result, the use of a tractor powered by methane closes the cycle of “green” energy," she said.
According to her, the engine can also run on compressed natural gas in the absence of bio-methane.
“The supply of bio-methane powered tractors to Azerbaijan is also important in the context of the concept of creating a green energy zone in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh,” she added.
