BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. A total of 253,877 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Türkiye from January through May 2023, which is 2.7 percent less compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of tourists arriving in Türkiye from Azerbaijan in May 2023 decreased by 14.67 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 57,885 people.
A total of 14.3 million tourists visited Türkiye from January to May 2023, which is 23.65 percent more than in the same period last year.
The number of tourists visiting Türkiye in May 2023 increased by 16.19 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 4.5 million people.
Meanwhile, Türkiye was most visited by tourists from Russia (1.7 million), Germany (1.5 million), Bulgaria (1.5 million), England (987,267) and Iran (794,177) from January through May 2023.
